High-level questions about Larsen Masonry and how we work.
Larsen Masonry has been laying brick, block, and stone across the Salt Lake Valley for more than 20 years. We are a family-run shop based in Magna, Utah.
We work throughout the Salt Lake Valley — Magna, West Valley City, Salt Lake City, Kearns, Taylorsville, West Jordan, South Jordan, Sandy, Murray, and the surrounding communities. If you are not sure whether we cover your area, just call.
Yes — Larsen Masonry is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured Utah contractor. We can send a copy of our certificate of insurance before any work starts.
How we price work and what to expect from a quote.
Yes. We meet you on site, walk the project, and send a written, line-itemed estimate within a few business days. No charge and no obligation.
Three big factors: square footage of brick or stone, access to the site (a two-story chimney costs more than a ground-floor wall for the same square footage), and material selection. We will walk through each on the estimate.
Larger projects can be broken into a deposit plus progress payments — we will lay out the schedule in writing on the estimate. We accept check, cash, and credit card.
What we build and repair.
Both. We tuck-point a few square feet of failing mortar, replace a handful of damaged brick, or rebuild an entire chimney. No project is too small if it is in our wheelhouse.
In almost every case, yes. We carry a wide range of brick and tint mortar to match the original color and profile — most repairs blend into the surrounding wall once they have weathered a season.
For walls under 4 feet, we typically build to standard spec. Taller walls or walls supporting a structure get an engineer involved — we work with local Utah engineers and can coordinate stamped drawings.
